Dove was born September 1st, 1945 to Dovrannah and Samuel Connor in Montgomery, Alabama but shortly thereafter moved to Atlanta. She attended R.L. Hope Elementary School, North Fulton High School, and the University of South Carolina.
After college, Dove went to work for Delta Air Lines in Atlanta where she made many lifelong friends. She was a most loyal and witty friend. Dove spent most of her life in Atlanta raising her son until retiring to Blue Ridge, Ga. in 2008. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Friend and cherished her final years in the mountains.
Dove loved her family, her many friends and all of God’s creations in the plant and animal kingdom, and they reciprocated. She was an avid reader, traveler and regular patron of the Fannin County Public Library.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Samuel Strudwick “Wick” Connor; and former husband, Malcolm P. Smith, Sr. She is survived by her beloved son Malcolm P. Smith, Jr; daughter-in-law, Sydne; and granddaughters Ellie and Connor.
The family will receive friends at H.M. Patterson and Son, Spring Hill Chapel on Thursday, March 22nd from 2pm-4pm.
