Edmond Ray Harless, age 83, a decorated Veteran of WWII and career Coast Guard Officer, a former shipyard manager, and more recently, a retired Financial Consultant died March 10, 2011, after an eight month battle with brain cancer. Born in Graceland, West Virginia on October 30, 1926 to Enos Harless and Pansy Vickers Harless, he is survived by his wife, Joyce Blankenship Harless, son and daughter-in-law, Steven R. Harless and Caroline O. Harless of Atlanta, five brothers, and three sisters-in-law, Edsel “Bill” Harless of Lavalette, WV; Carmie Harless of Ona, WV; Leon and Phyllis Harless and Earl and Shelby Harless of Huntington, WV; Darold and Loretta Harless of Mansfield, OH and host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 13th at 4pm at Oglethorpe Hill Chapel. A graveside will take place Monday, March 14th at 10 am at Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:30 to 4 o’clock at H.M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30319.
