Edward Y. Albert, Sr., 87, of Atlanta died at The Mansions Assisted Living in Alpharetta on Wednesday, July 24, 2019. Born January 28, 1932 in Atlanta, Eddie lived in Atlanta and Tampa, Florida. He graduated from Plant High School in Tampa and attended college in Atlanta where he received his business degree from Georgia State. Following college, Eddie joined the U.S. Airforce and served as a pilot in Korea. Upon returning to Atlanta, he was an importer of Persian carpets for Y. Albert & Son allowing him to travel internationally for many years. His interests included restoring antique boats and flying airplanes.
Eddie is survived by his four children: Edward Y. Albert, Jr. (Molly), Nancy Albert Caudell; Paul D. Albert, Sr. (Jennifer), L. Hampton Albert (Terry); 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and two nephews.
