

Elizabeth (Betty Ann) Floyd Bearden of Atlanta, GA passed away at home on Friday, April 29th. She was born in Atlanta on June 24, 1931 to William F. Floyd and Josie (Centanni) Floyd. Betty Ann was a graduate of E. Rivers Elementary School, North Fulton High School and the University of Alabama where she was a dedicated “sister” of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Betty Ann was an avid bridge and tennis player. She loved to travel – most recently going to England for the Wimbledon tennis matches. Betty Ann loved to dance and party; she wrote poems for each family member’s birthday and she could tell a great joke. She was a member of the Capital City Club and Cherokee Club and was also a member of The Junior League of Atlanta, the Cherokee Garden Club and The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Warren H. Bearden Jr. Surviving are her sons, daughter and their spouses: James W. and Ginny Manry, William F. Manry, Warren H. and Susie Bearden, Maribett and John Varner. Grandchildren: Ellen (Manry) Manners, Katherine and Camille Bearden, Mitchell Ricke, Elisabeth (Varner) Moore, Kathleen (Varner) Wagner and Megan Varner. Great grandchildren: Natalie and Mitchie Ricke. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 6 at 2 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church, 4400 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA 30342; Reverend Dr. John Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service at St. James Church. H.M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill providing services.
