Elizabeth “Beth” Claire Salmon Rogers passed away surrounded by her family on August 25, 2026. Born on August 9, 1959, in Minden, Louisiana to Marsha and Clifton Salmon, she was a 1977 graduate of Minden High School. She later earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University. After a career as a computer programmer, she dedicated her life to raising her two daughters.
Beth was known for her sense of humor, love of adventure, open mindedness, curiosity, and kindness toward family, friends, and strangers. She was a second mother to many and played an important role in not only raising her own daughters, but also their friends. After beating colon cancer in 2012, she lived each day to the fullest and always made sure to have the “best day ever.”
Out of all her accomplishments and joys, she was most proud of the birth of her first grandchild, Sophia.
Beth is survived by her daughters, Emily Rogers, and husband Nicholas Schluterman, of Baltimore, Maryland, and Katie Rogers Shields, husband James, and daughter Sophia, of Atlanta, Georgia; and siblings Clifton Salmon of Homer, Louisiana, Suzanne Holst of Minden, Louisiana, and Laura Tucker of Minden, Louisiana.
In memory of Beth, contributions may be made to UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486 or MDAnderson.org/Gifts. MD Anderson was instrumental in Beth beating colon cancer and allowing her to raise her daughters to adulthood.
Per Beth’s wishes, no funeral services will be held.
