Ralph Malone, 88, of Dunwoody, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Malone and Ernelle Dean Malone Holley, sister Barbara (G.W.) Brantley, and several sisters and brothers-in-law.
Born and raised in Farmerville, Louisiana, he moved to Atlanta over 60 years ago, where he built a life alongside his beloved wife of 65 years, Evelene Arrant Malone. He worked for Eastman Kodak for 35 years before retiring, but his true life’s work could be seen in the people and places he cared for so faithfully.
He was a founding member of Chestnut Drive Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon for nearly 50 years. Known for his skill and willingness to help, he could fix almost anything and devoted countless hours to maintaining the church building and grounds. After its closing, he continued his faithful service at Cumming Church of Christ.
Ralph loved fishing, but even more, he loved inviting family and friends to attend his annual fish fry. As “king of the fryer”, he told stories and brought laughter to all around him. If you were lucky, he’d even teach you his secrets to frying great fish. He also enjoyed gardening, collecting coins and Coca-Cola memorabilia, watching and playing baseball, and coaching his son’s baseball teams for over a decade.
He will be remembered by his wife Evelene, son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Jan Malone, sister, Mary Franklin, granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Katy and Chris Adams, and Caroline and Sam Brannen, great-granddaughter Audrey, and a large extended family of over 50 sisters and brothers-in law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held before the service at 11am with the Celebration of Life service at 12pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill Chapel in Brookhaven. Reception with food and fellowship to follow the service.
