Born on July 20, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ernie was the beloved son of the late Ernest H. Radaker Sr. and Doris Radaker.
Ernie was a loving husband, father, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his husband, Tuan A. Tran; his son, Erik Radaker; his nephews, Brett and Derek Radaker; and his niece, Kim Raymond.
Ernie graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Duquesne University and spent most of his professional life working in finance. Throughout the years, he devoted himself not only to his family and career, but also to community service and the Episcopal Church.
Ernie will always be remembered for his love of Broadway—friends and family could often catch him joyfully belting out show tunes around the house. He adored holidays, and his home was always filled with decorations that reflected the season. Christmas, especially, held a special place in his heart, and his generosity during the holiday season was legendary.
Above all, Ernie had a larger-than-life personality and a warmth that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. His kindness, humor, and bright spirit will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son–Oglethorpe Hill Chapel in Brookhaven on July 20, 2026 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM , which would have been Ernie’s 74th birthday. In keeping with Ernie’s love of birthdays and joyful celebrations, his family felt there could be no more fitting day to gather, remember, and celebrate his life one final time.
