

She was born on February 19, 1949 in Dawson, GA to the late C. Dixon and Myrtle Oxford. She was educated at Brenau Academy in Gainesville GA and went to University of Georgia where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
After college she moved to Atlanta and joined the Junior League and volunteered at the Alliance Theater, which furthered her love for the arts. She then sold advertising for Business Atlanta Magazine before starting her current company, a successful high end custom carpet design studio where she worked with Atlanta’s Best Interior Designers. She had a unique talent for color, and designed some of the most beautiful carpets in the city, around the country, and internationally. Her carpet design creations been featured in numerous magazines including Veranda, Traditional Home and Atlanta Homes. Her love for color and pattern was evident in all of her beautiful creations.
Eve loved spending time with her family and her pets at her second home for many years in St Simons, Georgia and then most recently at the home she built on Fighting Town Creek in Blue Ridge, GA. Spending time in the creek with her grandchildren was her favorite thing to do. They spent hours in that creek exploring.
She and her husband Jim spent several months designing and building the Blue Ridge home and it was evident in the details. She was so talented in everything that she did. She was so full of life you could spot her from a mile away running around town in her bright orange Volkswagen Bug and making friends everywhere she went. She truly had a zest for life and will be missed by so many people.
She is survived by her husband James P. Groton, her daughter Anna Skiles Muir, son in law Price Muir, and her three adoring grandchildren, Will Muir, Mary Skiles Muir and John Dixon Muir and two sisters, Carole Oxford of Highlands, NC and Kay Singletary of Thomasville, GA.
She is also leaving behind her two dogs Virgil and Duke and a cat, Malcolm.
A memorial service will be held Monday September 19, 2011 at 2:00pm at
