

Patricia Harris McAtee passed away on February 11th, 2017. She is survived by her daughter Megan Haviland McAtee and her brother William Robert Harris. Pat grew up in a small town in South Georgia. She later moved to Atlanta where she lived until her death. Her life and her art were one and the same. Pat received her B.S. in Art Education from the University of Georgia and her Master of Visual Art from Georgia State University. She taught art in the Atlanta area for forty years. She held her teaching position at The Westminster Schools, Atlanta for a span of thirty-three years. As a graduate student, Pat was accepted into the Cortona Program and exhibited in the Istituto S. Catherine Show at Medici Fortezza. She was accepted into the Fulbright Program and spent a year in England. She received a scholarship to paint and study at NYU. Her work was exhibited at the Sven Parsons Gallery and the Smithsonian. She also had work exhibited in Hawaii and Georgetown University. Her work can be found in public and private collections.
Visitation will be held at H.M. Patterson and Son-Spring Hill Chapel, 1020 Spring St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30309, February 17, 2017, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM followed by a memorial service.
