Frances Henry Almand died on March 2, 2022. She was born in Atlanta to Lem and Lillie Henry on September 4, 1926. She was a well known Atlanta artist, a lover of golf, and a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She attended Girl High School in Atlanta and Wesleyan College in Macon. After graduating from The High Museum of Art, she taught art in the Atlanta Public School system. In 1948, she married Richard Henry Almand, Jr. and became the proud mother of a son and daughter. She joined and was active in several civic organizations including The Atlanta Historical Society, Rabun Gap Nacoochee Guild, Egleston Auxiliary, Piedmont Hospital Auxiliary, Atlanta Artists Club, Wood Valley Garden Club, High Museum of Art, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Zoo Atlanta, and was an actively involved member at Trinity Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, Richard Henry Almand, Jr. Surviving are her daughter, Sally Almand Northcutt, son, Richard Henry Almand Ill, four grandchildren, Thomas James Northcutt Ill, Isoline Northcutt Abels and husband Nelson Abels, Richard Bradley Almand and wife Ariel Almand, Kathryn Frances Almand, two great grandsons Henry Cheyney Abels and Mason Bradley Almand, nephew Brian Henry and wife Laura Henry of Atlanta, niece Linda Beck and husband John Beck of Columbus, Georgia. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church
