

Mrs. Power was born in the Foster’s Mill community of Cave Spring, Floyd County, GA on September 20, 1915, the daughter of the late James Henderson Clark and Anna Brown Williams Clark.
Mrs. Power was a long-time resident of the Virginia Highlands community of Atlanta. During her early years she was employed by Atlanta Envelope Company, Davison’s (Macy’s), and Celanese Fibers Corporation.
She was very active well into her nineties and was an avid gardener. She was accomplished in sewing and all types of needlework, which she gave as gifts to families and friends. She loved to write letters and stayed in touch with her friends for many years.
Mrs. Power was married to William Doyle Power who preceded her in death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Donald Clark, Tom Clark, and Jack Clark and a sister Edith Clark Mills, all of Rome, GA.
Survivors include two nieces Janice Clark Morrissey of Rockmart, GA, and Gail Clark Vokes and husband John of Hartwell, GA; her sister-in-law Inez A. Clark, two nephews by marriage Mike Garrison and wife Donna of Jasper, GA, and Bob Garrison and wife Linda of Orlando, FL. She was a member of Druid Hills Methodist Church in Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held Thursday Feb. 27, 2014 at 2 PM at Patterson’s Spring Hill Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Ridley officiating; interment will follow at Westview. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at hmpattersonspringhill.com
