Franklin Gray III, 49, passed away March 30, 2016. Frank was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, on May 13, 1966, to Elaine May Gray (Faulkner) and Franklin Gray, Jr. His father, Franklin, precedes him in death. He is survived by his wife, Courtney; sons, William (20 months) and a son expected in September; mother, Elaine Gray; brother, Lewis Gray (Jennifer); sister, Susan Gray Dahl (Doug); niece, Annaliesa Dahl; and nephews, Douglas, Nicolaus, and T.J. Dahl.
Frank was a loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend. His family brought him great joy. In Courtney he found the love of his life and in William a blessing unsurpassed. The anticipated arrival of a second son in September was a dream come true. He loved to read to William, walk hand and hand with his wife, and stroll in the botanical garden.
Frank enjoyed little things like digging quahogs, cooking for the ones he loved, Lyle Lovett, and photography (as long as he wasn’t in the picture). The many hurdles Frank overcame in his life made him appreciate the simple things and find joy in the small moments. He had a sharp wit and loved to laugh.
Frank’s sharp intellect, hard work, and dedication propelled him in his career. He excelled in his most recent position as Assistant Regional Director for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. His thoughtfulness and willingness to help made him a valued resource to all with whom he worked. He was a kind soul who always had time for somebody who needed him. He was a true gentleman.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church, 1328 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30309. The family will receive visitors from 10:00-12:00, and a reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cathedral Preschool, 2744 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30305.
