Alex Sherrill of Chamblee, age 82, passed away at Golden Living Center Dunwoody on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 after weathering many years of declining health. A native of Mooresville, North Carolina, Alex was born on April 12, 1930 to Kelly and Ann Sherrill. He graduated from Western Carolina University in 1952. Alex moved to Atlanta in 1966 with his wife and two young sons. He spent over thirty years as a faithful employee of BellSouth Yellow Pages. Alex is survived by his wife Carolyn and his two sons: Mark Sherrill (Janet) of Suwanee and Brad Sherrill of Chamblee. Alex is also survived by his two grandchildren: Lauren and Kyle Sherrill. A Memorial service to celebrate Alex Sherrill's life will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 2 pm at Chamblee First United Methodist Church, 4147 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd., Chamblee, with the Reverend Dr. Royeese Stowe officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Alex's honor to the Chamblee First United Methodist Church Restoration Fund.
