Geoffrey was born on January 8, 1961 in Schenectady, NY to Thomas G Johnson Sr. and Joan Marion Reuss Johnson. He peacefully passed after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on August 3, 2026 at 65, (or by Geoff’s math at 29 years old) and is now united with his parents, his brother Christopher Reuss Johnson and his fur babies Sage Rosemary, Zoe, Allie and Kirby.
He was a beautiful soul, and he had a true love for everything and everyone. His infectious personality spread laughter, fun and love everywhere he went. He made new friends at every gathering whether it be family, extended family or friends that inevitably became family to him. He was a truly happy person.
Geoff moved from Schenectady, NY with his family in 1972 to Lawyersville, NY. He had a love of horses and regularly went riding with friends. There he attended Cobleskill Schools and graduated in 1979. He attended College at Alfred State and graduated from the University of Georgia where he studied horticulture. After graduation he soon started his own landscaping business Highland Landscapes where many of his clients became life long friends. He retired in 2022 and spent his time at his homes in Atlanta and Folly Beach.
Geoff married the love of his life and keeper of his heart for the past fifteen years, Steven Rudisail. They truly complimented each other with their love and affection through glances, touches, expressions, kind and sometimes very funny verbal exchanges. Their true love will carry on forever as being fantastic and genuine.
Geoff loved to be near water, whether it be their pool or on Folly Beach. This is where he truly relaxed and enjoyed life.
Geoff leaves behind, with so many very special memories, his best friend, truly dedicated and loving husband Steven Rudisail; His loving brothers and sisters-Thomas Jr (Sandy), Randall (April), Steven (Tina), and Pamela Jennings. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews – Matthew (Cristina), Samantha (Glorimar), Denelle (Andy), Randall Jr (Ashley), Christopher Jr, Michelle (Sean), Alicia, Katlyn (Casy), Tanner, Ethan (Julia), Hailey (Ethan), Brady, Grace, Sutton, Liam, Natalie, Keegan, Layla. Also his sister in law Janice Rudisail and niece Amanda Janda, Matthew Garner and Brian Brittain. Also, many friends from his gym, racquetball, bowling, poolside fun, and soccer days. He was truly loved.
The world lost a truly kind soul and the void will not be filled.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
