A few years after Harriet died I received a box of collars from Best Friends at my shelter. In the box was a collar with one of Harriet’s tags. It hangs on my desk to remind me and inspire me when I need the strength to keep going. She was a beautiful lady and so helpful when I first got into rescue. Miss you sweet lady.

I miss Harriett so much.  She was a true rare human being in her kindness to animals and to people, also.  Harriett truly walked the walk, not just talked it.  Harriett was an inspiration to all who knew her.  Her deep and sincere caring and concern for  all animals is an example to us all.  She had such a big heart which she shared with all living beings.  She will be forever in my heart.

Harriett will always be in my heart as one of the kindest souls ever to walk this earth.  I  often find myself thinking about her constant devotion and true generosity of spirit to all living beings.  Harriett was one who truly “walked the walk” and dedicated her life to helping so many animals.  You influenced so many people by your loving example and constant selfless acts.  I love and miss you, dearest Harriett.

Harriett was a true hero for all animals and dedicated her life and monetary inheritance to saving all homeless animals.  She will always be in my heart for her dedication and unfailing love for all animals.  Harriett was a true hero for animals and worked so hard to save every last  homeless animal, much to the detriment of her own health.  We both suffered from severe depression, which makes animal rescue all the more difficult, but nothing was more important to her than saving every homeless animal.  She had the biggest heart of gold.  I will never forget this most loving, self sacrificing human being for the example she gave us all who had the good fortune to have known her.  She set the bar high, and I am forever in her debt for her example of selflessness.  You are my biggest hero, Harriett!  I love you always!

Harriett was such a deeply loving, committed person to helping animals for so many years.  Not many people take their family inheritance and put it all towards  rescuing cats and dogs, without spending it on herself or having an easier life.  Harriett is my heroine and an example to us all about true dedication and selflessness.  I miss Harriett so much for her kindness and  her example for the rest of us to follow.   Love you always, Harriett!

I just read about Harriett's death here.  I last saw her probably not long before she passed away.  She and I did rescue together for a while many years ago.  She was a good friend to me and was devoted to animals in every way.  I hope her animal friends were/are cared for by loving humans in her absence.  My condolences to her family and friends.  I am just saddened to learn she is no longer in this world helping animals.  RIP

I am so sad to hear about the passing of such a wonderful woman. Harriet rescued our Bebe and allowed me the honor of adopting her. I will forever be grateful to Harriet for blessing me with my love puppy. Harriet you changed the lives of so many people and dogs on this Earth. My hope is you are surrounded by love & light. 

I was so incredibly sorry to learn of Harriett’s passing. We adopted our sweet dog Dee Dee from her in the fall of 2017 who has filled our home with so much love and laughter. Rest In Peace, Harriett. You were an amazing woman who made a huge difference in so many lives.

I got my dog Scooter from Harriett. What a gift that keeps on giving. Thank you Harriett. I know you will be missed and the impact you had on creatures great and small will live on. You will not be forgotten. 

I met Harriett years ago transporting animals  from Murray County (& others) and what a doll!  Always willing to help with the animals whenever she could.  She will surely be missed by her rescue community & her 4-legged friends.  Godspeed my friend.  Take care of our futkids til we meet again. 

I spoke with Harriet many times over the years.  Her hard work and devotion will be sorely missed.
I am sure many of her rescued babies  are with her for eternity.

I was to meet Harriett for the first time many years ago at Toco Hill. When I arrived at the pet store and asked for Harriett, a young volunteer pointed out the woman bolting down the parking lot after a small, scared and feisty rescue.  Harriett ran all the way down N. Druid Hills...and came back much later with that little dog for someone. My love, respect and admiration for her courage, tenacity and strength have only grown as over the years she has been there to support, advise, and encourage me and so many others. She deeply loved our animals and her family who have been there for her. May her legacy and devotion to animals live on. Here's to you, Harriett!

Harriett was someone I've looked up to ever since I've known her. I volunteered at her rescue for a long time and she always had a smile waiting for me. Not only did she rescue dogs but I feel as if she rescued me in more ways than one. My heart is shattered over this news but I will love her forever. I wish her family and the rescue family nothing but love. 

I’ll always remember Miss Harriett. She helped rescue my dog Pork Chop and was instrumental in transporting her to me from Georgia to New York.  Words can’t express how grateful I am for that and the work she’s done to rescue other animals as well.

My friend Carol and I often  rescued dogs from shelters for Harriet . She was the  a wonderful and kind woman . She will be missed  by so many . Rest In Peace  Harriet .

Michele and I have adopted and fostered many dogs from Harriet, she was always so kind and helpful and generous.  RIP Harriet.  We Loved you!!

Harriett helped me with a dog that was abandoned and I saw her at the adoption events at Pet Supermarket. The animal rescue world will miss her and I pray for strength for her family.

Harriett was an amazing person.  Although I thanked her several times for the help she personally gave  me in rescuing two neglected and abused dogs in my neighborhood, I don't think she truly understood what a special person she was.  She will be sorely missed.  May her memory be a blessing.
