

Henrietta Madrina Pollard, 63, of Atlanta, GA passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at her home. She was born April 11, 1949 to Warren R. Pollard, Jr. and Harriett Smith Pollard in Atlanta, Ga. She grew up here in Atlanta and attended the Westminster School and graduated from Converse College with a degree in History. She continued her education for many years afterwards, taking night classes at Emory University on every possible subject that caught her many interests especially classes on Atlanta’s History.
Being an Atlanta native she was very proud that she lived her entire life in the Collier Hills neighborhood where she grew up. She loved musical concerts at Chastain Park, the Fox Theater and the Mount Paran Church of God. She worked many years as a ‘Save the Fox’ volunteer and has been a regular at concerts and plays there ever since. She always had a life long love of travel and her favorite destinations were the Georgia coast in the summer, the North Georgia mountains in the Fall and Callaway Gardens in the Spring when the azaleas were in bloom. One of her favorite pastimes was family gatherings with aunts, uncles, and cousins in Covington, Ga.
She is survived by her brother Warren R. Pollard III (Rise), her niece Kathryn Smith Pollard of Atlanta, Ga. and her nephew Capt. James W. Pollard, USMC of New Bern, NC.
There will be a private graveside service at 2.00 PM on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Royeese Stowe . a long time family friend, of the Chamblee First United Methodist Church will be presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association.
