Mr. Christian (affectionately known as Chris) was born in Yonkers, New York to Hubert Burrell Christian Sr. and Zoe R. Marshall Christian on June 15, 1939.
He was an extremely proud veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a Marine (“Semper Fi”). He spent a total of six years, both as an Active Duty and a Reserve Duty Marine.
Mr. Christian’s career with Prudential began in September 1966, as an insurance and investment sales agent in Queens, New York. He retired from The Prudential, January 1997, after having served as Executive Director, Prudential Family of Companies for Metropolitan Atlanta where he assisted in joint marketing efforts of 25 Prudential insurance, real estate, and investment business units & served as Chair for The Prudential Foundation Grant Committee for the State of Georgia.
In addition to joining a multitude of veteran-related, business and volunteer memberships, Mr. Christian’s hobbies included collecting artwork, boating, cooking asian foods, fishing, golfing, grilling, listening to classical and jazz music, tending to his garden of plants/herbs & playing chess and tennis.
Mr. Christian is preceded in death by his father and mother, Hubert B. Christian Sr. and Zoe R. Marshall Christian, and by his brother Walter Christian.
Mr. Christian is survived by Beverly Christian (whom he was formerly married to and with whom he continued to remain friends); 1 sister: Lita Christian Anderson (James - deceased) - Queens, New York; 2 daughters: Toni Christian Thomas (Milton) - Atlanta, Georgia, Lisa Christian (Timothy) - Macungie, Pennsylvania; 2 sons: Marc Christian - Norcross, Georgia, Keith Christian (Shana) - Hillsboro, New Jersey; 2 grand-daughters: Lauren Thomas and Kayla Christian; 3 grandsons: Emaeus Thomas, Brett Christian-Burgess, Brennen Christian-Burgess; 2 nieces: Letia Anderson Udensi (Victor) and Linda Anderson Harris (David); 1 nephew: James Anderson II.; and 6 great nieces and nephews: Phillip Udensi, Michael Udensi, James Brandon Anderson, Jeanier Anderson, Nyemadeh Harris, and Dweh Harris.
Pallbearers will be Emaeus Thomas, Brett Christian-Burgess, Brennen Christian-Burgess, Dweh Harris, Michael Udensi and Phillip Udensi.
Visitation, will be held on Thursday, October 4th 6:00pm - 8:00pm at H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel (Atlanta, GA).
Burial will be held Friday October 5, 2018 11:00am at GEORGIA NATIONAL CEMETERY (1080 Scott Hudgens Dr. Canton, GA 30114).

The family of Hubert B. Christian Jr. wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Atlanta VA doctors and nurses (including Dr. Steven Anander - his primary care physician of many years and Dr. Antonio Graham - his geriatric physician for the past year); Staff at Sunrise Buckhead assisted living facility who provided support, guidance, encouragement and ease in making his living space his home; and to the staff and nurses from Homestead Hospice who gently cared for him and provided comfort over the past 5 months and sat with him as he made his transition to be with the Lord.
