Irene Joyce Williams

Irene J. Williams, age 91 of Woodstock, GA. formerly of Atlanta, died Monday, November 29, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband, H. Lee Williams; her mother, Louise G. Childers; her stepfather, Dr. Roy S. George; her father, Godfrey Johnson, and her beloved dog Sassy. Survivors include sisters-in-law, Inez Williams of Port Royal (Beaufort) SC, Ollie Williams of Tampa, Fl., Jonell Garrett of Broxton, GA; brother-in-law, Joe Mogie , of Tucson AZ; cousin, Carol Gable of Raleigh, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Mrs. Williams retired in 1980 after being employed for 38 years by Gold Kist in Atlanta. She was a member of Bethany Primitive Baptist Church, Suwanee, GA. She was a loving wife and daughter; and she enjoyed her job, her home, cooking, numerous hobbies, and reading the Bible. Special thanks to Woodstock Estates Assisted Living and VistaCare Hospice for the loving care given to Irene.

Interment services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 2p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Atlanta. Elder Gus Harter officiating. The family will receive friends at H.M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill Thursday, December, 2nd from 11am to 1pm. In leiu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Primitive Baptist Church, 5101 Old Atlanta Road, Suwanee, GA. 30024; VistaCare Hospice, 400 Franklin Road, Suite 200, Marietta, GA. 30067; or a charity of one’s choice in loving memory of Irene J. Williams.
