James E. Hoban, 92, died July 1 after a long battle with cancer. Originally from Chicago, he was with J. Walter Thompson Advertising. He moved to Atlanta in 1952 to join Tucker Wayne Company, where he became Vice President. He later formed his own agency named Hoban Allen, Sachs. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille Wrigley of Atlanta; sons Mark Hoban (Karen) and Patrick Hoban (Toni); and several grandchildren. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Traditional Catholic Church in Mableton where a Requium Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 9 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at H M Patterson Oglethorpe Chapel in Brookhaven Sunday, July, 8 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Donations may be sent to Birthright Atlanta.

I met Jim and Lucille and the boys decades ago, spending much time with them as we all were learning about life things through the eyes and vocal talents of Father Micheal Regan. What fodder and fun he provided! Jim shared his assessment of all that was happening in direct words and actions.

Mr. Hoban was truly One of a kind ...... you always knew where he stood . he was never shy on opinions and for that I thank him ! I have a lot of fond memories .....
