Jane Griffin

November 13, 1940 – May 8, 2026
Obituary of Jane Griffin
IN THE CARE OF

H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel

Jane Flowers Griffin died on Friday, May 8th. She was born in 1940 in Leeds. She received her Associates Degree from Brenau College.

She followed her first husband to Hawaii where she raised her two sons.

A true patron of the arts, she co-produced the first performances of the New York City Ballet in Hawaii in 1982. She encouraged others to enjoy museums, art, symphony and theater.

She lived in Australia, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and settled back in the south where she went on to earn a Nursing degree.

She was happiest soaking in the sun on the deck of a boat.

She sailed on numerous adventures with her second husband James Griffin, including the Amalfi Coast, and the entire Eastern coast of the United States on their treasured Jubillee ship many summers voyaging from Annapolis to Bar Harbor.

She is survived by two sons from her first marriage, Dr. Samuel S. Flowers and Robert S. Flowers, five grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. We take solace imaging her sailing the heavenly skies with her dear husband manning the sails.

She will be buried in Shiloh Cemetery in Leeds.
