Jo Booker, 66 On the morning of June 5, 2015, Jo passed away in Duluth, Georgia with her family by her side. Mary "Jo" Booker was the only daughter of the late Earl and Mildred Tucker born on August 27, 1948 in Boaz, Alabama. She enjoyed a childhood filled with cousins and friends on Lookout Mountain, Alabama before moving to Rome, Georgia as a teenager. After high school graduation she moved to Atlanta and settled in the Brookhaven area for 30 years. In Brookhaven she raised her two children, Chris and Resa, and was very active in their schools, sports and hobbies. She was the crossing guard between their schools, Woodward Elementary and Cross Keys High, from the late seventies through the mid-eighties. Later she began to work in the printing industry where she would go on to meet many wonderful people that became life long friends, and it's also how she met her husband, Buddy. Jo and Buddy shared a true and enduring love for each other. Together they lived in Berkeley Lake for 15 years surrounded by their four grandchildren, grandchildren Jo loved to spend any and all the time she could with. Jo is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Bowman of Huntsville, Alabama. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Buddy Booker; her son, Chris Bishop and his daughter, Cori; her daughter and son-in-law, Resa and Ron Mechling and their children, Remy, Rogan and Rory. The family welcomes friends and family to gather and remember and celebrate her at Oglethorpe Hill Chapel on Thursday, June 11 at 3pm.
