Ruth Jo Booker, 81, of Atlanta, Georgia and formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, died peacefully on July 6, 2016 in her home. She is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Celeste Bolton, sisters Delores Williams, Betty Zukav, and of her late husband of 51 years, James Robert Booker.
Ruth was a homemaker and mother who loved jazz music, singing, painting, and cooking. She enjoyed the sun, adored many years of family pets, and traveling with her husband and family. They had many memorable and cherished years skiing in the mountains of Vail, Colorado. Another special place dear to her heart was the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri.
Survivors include her daughters: Nancy Woodruff of Atlanta, Georgia, Denise Booker of Atlanta, Georgia, Cheryl Sharp (and husband, Tom Sharp) of Alpharetta, Georgia, Terri Booker of Alpharetta, Georgia (and partner Deborah Barron), her grandchildren: Ally Woodruff and John Woodruff, of Atlanta, Georgia, and two nephews and two nieces.
Memorial Service to be held at: HM Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel in Atlanta, Georgia (Brookhaven). The family expresses immense gratitude to all those special angels on earth that cared for her in the final days of her journey with us.
