I found this tragic news through my friend in St.Petersburg airport (Russia). I met John during my  first trip to Atlanta in 1996.  Later we kept in touch and worked on many Dcs projects in Canada. John was a great mentor, good colleague and a reliable friend, and his help was pivotal in my professional development during my first years in Canada.   My deepest condolences to Nancy and the family with this tragic loss. I am lucky to know John and he will stay in my memory and in my heart forever.

We were looking at photos from our vacation to Jamaica in 1976.  John was always smiling and cutting up.  His spirit lives on in our memories!

Although I also worked for Eastern, I just met John recently when he volunteered to be a part of Winship's Peer Partner group. I believe it is a great testimony to John that he wanted to help others navigate the path that we must when diagnosed with cancer.

This is really a shocking news. John has been a great mentor and an excellent colleague to many in SITA. May his soul rest in peace and may god shower courage and strength to his family to bear this loss.

John was a unique individual with an enormous presence.  He  had the most infectious smile and a great sense of humor.  He was a good friend to my partner and me for many years.  We will both miss him.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nancy, Matt, Barbara, Karen, Mickey, John, and Mary.

John was very kind patient teacher but also he was a great person. We enjoyed every moment spent with him. I want to express my condolences to John's family. My thoughts are with you.

It is very hard to explain our feeling, when we received this really very sad message. John was our first teacher and he will be always linked with great time, we spent in his presence. I am absolutely shocked to hear that John Bjerre passed away. Please accept my deepest condolences to all his family and friends from me.

I worked in Kuala Lumpur very closely with John together, he made a very difficult process, a very easy time. It is sad that John is not with us anymore.

I have just heard that Mr Bjerre passed away last March the 19th and I am still shocked. I really appreciated him very much and he was always very supportive while I was working in SITA.

Please convey our condolences on behalf of the DCS team at Malaysia Airlines to the family. We are saddened by the news of his demise. We have learned a lot from his stint in KUL.He had a great sense of humor and his classes were very lively. A sad loss and he will be remembered fondly.

I worked with John at SITA.  He always had a smile for me and usually a corny bit of humor which I always enjoyed.  Whenever there was some problem, I would call John to give me the real story. He always patiently explained to me the complex ins and outs of an airlines departure control process and our system. He was very dedicated to his work, the company, and his customers.  

I am grateful for all John gave to us as a colleague, but also as a friend.  He is fondly remembered and very missed.
