

Passed away March 8, 2014 at Country Care Nursing Home, Easton, Kansas. He was born February 11, 1920 in Atlanta, Georgia to J. Harold Street and Thelma Rebecca Phillips. He is survived by his daughter, Judith and son-in-law Rudolph Stupar; his granddaughters Andrea L Brewer (Jim L Brewer) and Julia S. Seifert (Jerry D. Seifert); 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great –great grandchildren.
John served in the United States Air Force for 30 years. His war service included World War II, the Berlin Airlift/Military Air Transport Services, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He retired November 30, 1968 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
He received his Bachelor of General Education and Business Management from the University of Omaha in 1964. John earned his Masters of Business Education in 1972 and a Masters of Vocational Education in 1977 as well as his teaching certifications. He taught business at Archer High School, Atlanta, Georgia and then became the Vocational Business Supervisor. He was at Archer for 17 years.
He married Jean Lipps in 1942. They enjoyed 60 years of traveling for his military service and for leisure. They were avid dog lovers and supporters of their neighborhood Citadel Garden Club and the Atlanta Zoo. Jean passed away September 22, 2002.
To their family, John and Jean have left a legacy of love, Christian values and the importance of family. Internment will be in College Park, Georgia at 2:00 p.m. on March 13, 2014.
