Joseph Phillip “Phil” Carver of Brookhaven, GA passed away on December 8, 2014 at home. Born in Chattanooga, TN in 1956 to Joseph Edward and Dorothy Hudgins Carver. He was a beloved husband, son, brother, and uncle. He graduated from Tyner High School in 1974. Phil earned a B.S. in English/Psychology at the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga and received his law degree from Duke University. He had a long career as a regulatory attorney with BellSouth/AT&T. After he retired, Phil and his wife, Jennifer enjoyed traveling to Europe and around the USA. Phil is survived by his wife, Jennifer Creagan Carver; parents Ed and Dot Carver of Chattanooga; brothers, Jeff (Chary) of Lilburn, GA and Mike (Michelle) of Ooltewah, TN; aunt Mary Alice Loyd; uncle John Robert Hudgins and many nieces and nephews. His family would like to especially thank his devoted caregiver Felecia Brown. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday December 13, 2014 at H.M. Patterson & Son Oglethorpe Hill with a reception to follow. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Atlanta Community Food Bank or Habitat for Humanity.
