Judith Helen Martin

Judith Helen “Judy” Martin passed away on July 25, 2025 at Solana East Cobb Memory Care in Marietta, GA. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey on November 6, 1942 to Joseph and Helen Martin. She grew up in Rutherford, NJ and graduated from Rutherford High School in 1960. She then attended Lasell University in Newton, MA and earned a BA degree in Psychology at Ramapo College (summa cum laude) in Mahwah, NJ. Her career experiences included the publishing industry, computer systems installations, and lastly the animal care industry. The computer industry brought her to Georgia from New Jersey in the mid 1980s and she lived in the Atlanta area since then. Judy raised two children in suburban New Jersey before moving south. In 2001 she married William “Bill” Bulpitt and was introduced to the greater Georgia Tech community, attending Georgia Tech football games for many years and getting to know Bill’s extensive network of fraternity brothers from Tau Kappa Epsilon. She enjoyed traveling with Bill to many states in the U.S. and several countries in Europe including England, France, Italy, and Spain. The highlight of their travels included a trip to Southern Africa in 2019.

Judy is survived by her husband, her daughter Denise Rothman (Rick) of Durham North Carolina and their daughter Tori, of Smithfield, NC and her son Darren LaPadula (Melissa) of Whitney Point, NY and their sons Jesse of Binghamton, NY and Holden of Brooklyn, NY. She is also survived by her brother David Martin of Marlton, NJ and two stepchildren in the Atlanta area, Geoffrey Bulpitt and Rebecca Shepeard.

A visitation for Judith will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30319, followed by a Celebration of Life from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and a reception immediately after.
