

Mrs. Hemby was born and raised in West Tennessee and received a BA in Music from David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN. She was a homemaker, piano teacher, and taught Sunday School classes. She served as President of the Waycross, Metro East, and Macon chapters of the Women of Georgia Power and was a member of the Board of Georgia AGAPE. She was President of the Macon Music Teachers Association and a member of the Druid Hills Golf Club Super Seniors Tennis Team.
She is survived by daughters Lisa (Larry) Ferris of Piedmont, S.C., Mary Claire (David) Hill of S. Pittsburg, TN, Susan (Scott) Stutzman of Indiana PA; son Tom Hemby of Atlanta; sisters Donna Holladay of Atlanta and Joy Howell of Sacramento, CA; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
The family expresses special appreciation to the staff of Arbor Terrace of Decatur Assisted Living for their extraordinary, compassionate care for both “Mrs. June” and her family. A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 5 at 2:30 o’clock at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgia AGAPE, 3094 Mercer Drive, # 200, Atlanta, Georgia, 30341. The Family will receive friends Saturday, November 4 from 4 until 6 o’clock at H.M. Patterson and Son, 1020 Spring Street, NW, Atlanta, Georgia, 30309.
