
Keller was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Keller Smith, Sr. and Mary Cochran Smith on March 20, 1941. He married Bennie Louise Paris on August 6, 1966 in Alamance County, North Carolina. Keller graduated from North Carolina State University at Raleigh with a Bachelor of Architecture with Honors and received a Master Degree in Architecture from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
Keller joined the Atlanta architecture firm of Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart and Associates, Inc. (SRSS) in 1979 and advanced to the level of Principal within the firm. He and Bennie lived in Singapore from 1991-1993 where Keller was integral in the establishment of the SRSS Singapore office. He retired from SRSS in 2012.
Keller is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Lynn Smith Hill.
Keller is survived by his wife Bennie, son Keller Paris Smith (Lynette) and daughter Caroline Smith Chandler (Todd). He is survived by his brother Wallace Cochran Smith (Elizabeth).
Keller is also survived by his much loved grandchildren: Annalyn Eaddy Smith, Keller Albert Smith, Mary Paris Smith, Ella Louise Chandler and Daniel Todd Chandler II.
Visitation is December 15, 2022 at H.M. Patterson & Son - Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening. Burial will follow at a later date with a private family service.
Memorials chosen to remember Keller’s memory are St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, and Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
