Ken was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Ted Schroeder and Audrey Phillips Schroeder on August 6, 1936. He went to school at Bridgetown Elementary and Western Hills High School, both in Cincinnati, Ohio. He married his High School Sweetheart Constance Meyer on September 8, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BBA in 1960 and was a proud member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He worked as the Southeastern Regional Sales Manager for the Buckhorn Division of Myers Industries until his retirement in 2000. He was a veteran having served in the Army and Air Force Reserves. He was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Dunwoody, Georgia. He loved sports, especially baseball as a young man. He was a member of the 1952 National Champion Bentley Post American Legion baseball team. He was passionate about his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted Son, Husband of 59 years, Father, Grandfather “Papa” and friend. He enjoyed anything that involved family.
Ken Schroeder is preceded in death by his parents Ted and Audrey Schroeder.
Ken Schroeder is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Connie Schroeder, his devoted son Brad A. Schroeder (Mona) and loving daughter Julie A. Cannady (Randy), his beautiful granddaughter Brookley F. Schroeder and his handsome grandson Braden “Brady” F. Schroeder, his sweet niece Michele Castador (Mike), and her caring children James Kluener, (Shelia), Jeff Kluener. Ashley Kluener, and Caiti Riffee (Shawn).
A Memorial Celebration Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 4896 N. Peachtree Road, Dunwoody, Georgia 30338 with the Reverend Charles Broome of Kingswood United Methodist Church, officiating. A reception will be held following the service in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would please request that donations be made to a charity of their choice or to Kingswood United Methodist Church.
