

Kristine (Tina) Hartman MacManus, age 59, passed away peacefully at home in Atlanta, Georgia on June 4, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Tina was born on August 18, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Carroll Simms Hartman and the late Robert Lee Hartman of Asheville, North Carolina.
Tina received her BA in Parks and Recreation from North Carolina State University and was a certified Paralegal. She was very active at her church in each of the communities she lived over the course of her life from New England to the South. She served as a Christian education director, Pennywise Shop director, alter guild member, choir member, bible school teacher, mission worker, and vestry member. She was also very involved in each community serving as a Girl Scout leader, swim team coach, Master Gardner, and member of many community organizations. Tina was an engaged citizen and very proud of her American heritage and was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Tina is survived by Richard K. MacManus, her husband of over 35 years, and three beautiful daughters: Megan Lamar MacManus of New York, New York; Constance (Connie) Ellen MacManus of London, England; and Jane Carroll MacManus of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by her three sisters and their families: Karen Hartman Herron and Edward Herron of Hickory, North Carolina; Constance (Connie) Hartman Gawrych of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; and Katherine Hartman Stevens of Asheville, North Carolina. She also leaves behind numerous other loving family relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Tina will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Asheville, North Carolina on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be given in her memory and designated toward ‘cancer research’ by contacting the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org, or by calling 1.800.227.2345. The family wishes to thank all of those who have cared for her through her battle with cancer.
