"Coach" Larry D. Spangler, of Griffin Georgia passed away Mar. 27, 2012. He is survived by son Shannon, daughter Shonda Lewis, son n law Darrell Lewis, Grandson Brennan Lewis, brother Peter and sister in law Gloria Spangler all of Atlanta, brother and sister in law Roy and Bobbie Yeager of Spring, Tx., and many nieces and nephews. He is preceeded in death by his Father Simeon Russell, mother Doris, and sister Karen Spangler. He served in Airforce until his Honorable discharge in 1962. He was a respected coach in all sports at Doraville Recreation center, NorthEast and Clairmont, and many traveling softball teams from 1970-1988. He will always be remembered for the legacy he left on young kids and the countless lives he touched through the years. Funeral Services for Mr. Spangler will be held Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 3PM in the H.M. Patterson and Son Oglethorpe Hill Chapel. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-3PM.
