Lawrence Houston Jenkins passed away on January 21, 2015, while residing at the VA Hospital in Atlanta. For the past three years, he received the upmost care and love of the entire staff and doctors at Eagles Nest. He brought joy to everyone he met and now has gone to meet his Lord. He bravely served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII and received a Purple Heart after becoming severely wounded. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche V. Jenkins and son, Danny H. Jenkins. He is survived by his son, Donald Jenkins; grandsons, Dwayne (Julie) Jenkins, Spencer (Ellen) Jenkins, Matthew (Diana) Jenkins; 5 great-grandchildren, Zackary, Noah, Ansley, Cole and Houston. He will always be loved and truly missed within our hearts. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Wounded Warriors Project (www.woundedwarriorsproject.org). The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son Oglethorpe Hill. Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday held at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Dr. SW, Atlanta, GA 30310.
