

Lisa Nichols Moraitakis, age 55 of Marietta, GA, passed away July 18th 2014 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to Evans and Dee Nichols. She grew up in Marietta, GA, attended Marietta High school, and graduated from Georgia State University. Lisa was an exceptionally loving mother, devoted wife whose faith, energy, and love for life was an inspiration to her husband, children, friends, and anyone who met her. Lisa is survived by her husband of 32 years, Pete Moraitakis, sons, Costa and Peter, and daughter Catherine. Lisa is also survived by her parents, Evans and Dee, sister, Mary (Alex) Miltiades, bothers, Chris (Anthea) Nichols and Marc (Lee) Nichols, and many nieces and nephews. Lisa was always first to volunteer for many of the children’s activities rather it was school, Church youth group, or sports related. She always managed to find time to do what she loved, whether it be spinning, hiking the mountain, or running. In addition, Lisa enjoyed doing volunteer work for two of her favorite non-profits: Camp Twin Lakes and Loving Arms Cancer Outreach. Lisa will be missed by her family and her many friends whose lives she has brightened over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial donations be made to The Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2500 Clairmont Road, Atlanta, GA 30329, Camp Twin Lakes, 600 Means Street Atlanta, GA 30318, or Loving Arms Cancer Outreach, 833 Campbell Hill Street, Marietta, GA 30060. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 20th, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 6:00 P.M. at H.M. Patterson and Son Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road NE, Brookhaven, GA, 30319/404-261-3510. The funeral service will be Monday, July 21st, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at The Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2500 Clairmont Road Atlanta, GA 30329. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, GA.
