Lynn L. Hawker

Lynn Louise Hawker age 79 of Chamblee, GA passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on January 3, 2015 after an extended illness. Lynn was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 3, 1935 where she attended high school and later worked at the community bank for 10 years. She moved to the Atlanta area in 1972. Lynn was a woman of great faith and made a loving home for her husband, sons and mother that lived with her for many years. She was an active member of Cross & Crown Lutheran Church for 42 years where she served as Co-Chairman of the Library Guild, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Delta Circle women’s group. Lynn loved spending time with her family and friends. Lynn is survived by her husband of 56 years, John E. Hawker, sons David P. Hawker (Cheri), Daniel S. Hawker, former daughter-in-law Lisa Hawker, 10 grandchildren (Jason, Ben, Daniel, April, Casson, Bentley, Matt, Chris, Paula & Hannah), 7 great grandchildren, sister in law Karen Hawker of Waukesua Wisconsin, several nieces, great nieces, great nephews and best friends Karen Stroh & Sharon Honrath who were like family to her. Her family and friends will forever remember her kind soul, and her ability to make everyone feel special—all of which she kept to the end. She was preceded in death by her parents Roland & Minnie Mueller, a brother Arthur Mueller and brother in law Richard Hawker. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Cross & Crown Lutheran Church, 4276 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Chamblee, GA 30341. Memorial contributions may be made to Cross & Crown Lutheran Church in memory of Lynn Hawker.
