Marcia Murray Meister

Marcia was born in Miami Florida to O.C. and Ginnie Murray. She attended Miami High School and The University of Florida where she met her future husband Robert "Bob" Meister. Entering college in the pre-med program, she left to marry and raise a family. She and Bob had three children, Michael, Kenneth, and Tracy. They divorced in 1972. She moved with her father to McDonough, Georgia after her mother's death in 1995. There, she lived next door to her brother Oliver "Tuffy" and his family and enjoyed spending time with them. She cared for O.C. until the end of his days and afterwards passed her time peacefully with her cats and her lovely yard with its abundant birds. Marcia spent her final months under the compassionate care of the good people at Budd Terrace at Wesley Woods long-term care. She was a lover of nature, science, and science fiction. Marcia is survived by her brother Tuffy, his wife Mary Jane, her children Michael Meister and Tracy Hetrick, her daughter's-in-law, Isabel Abello and Patricia Lyons, son-in-law Lawrence Hetrick and her grandchildren Robert Meister, Erich Meister, Thomas Hetrick, and Allison Hetrick. A service will be scheduled in the future. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Tropical Audubon Society or plant a tree.
