

Margaret (Sarah) Brittingham of Doraville, GA, passed away on March 20, 2016. Born Grace Margaret Crumley on February, 8, 1940 in Commerce, GA, she attended Hannah High School in Anderson, SC, and was also a beauty queen for the Delta Chi Chapter Beta Sigma Phi in Avondale, GA. She worked for Cofer Bros. in Tucker, GA in the 70’s, Cablevision in the 80’s and for 17 years as a cosmetologist for Clarins at Rich’s and Macy’s in North Dekalb Mall and Lenox Square, where she earned multiple sales awards and accolades, and made many friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Patrick W. Stevenson and her granddaughter, Shannon Bender. She is survived by her husband, Donald M. Brittingham; sons, Basil M. Stevenson III of Stone Mountain, Ga; John M. Stevenson of Atlanta, GA; Matthew C. Stevenson of Acworth, GA; daughters, Julie L. Stevenson of Tucson, AZ, Amanda T. Brittingham of Norcross, GA and Joanna Bender of Virginia Beach, VA; and grandchildren, Stephanie V. and Eric I. Stevenson; Kaylah, Aubrielle and Olivia Garcia; and Shawn and Tyler Bender. Other surviving family members include several sisters and brothers and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in both Georgia and South Carolina. Services will be at 3PM on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at H.M. Patterson and Son Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE in Brookhaven. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Go Red For Women (goredforwomen.org) or to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
