To Brandon, there is a prayer that goes ,Dear Lord, I thank You for the faith that frees,

The love that knows it cannot lose its own;

The love that, looking through the shadows, sees

That You and her/him and I are ever one!

Marianne, you were one of a kind. Lighting up the room was your gift and the stories you spun about growing up in the household with Alma and Richard were priceless. Thanks for tieing my shoes from Sunshine Kindergarten through first grade, I finally learned some where during second grade. Thanks for cheering for us jocks, and being my friend. You will be missed, as a light has gone out of the Class of 1964.

Brandon,
Your mother came to work for us right after she finished her engineering degree. She was a delight to have in the office and there was never a dull moment after she arrived. I also considered her a friend and will miss her wit. I can honestly say in my 35 years of employing engineers, there was never one like your mother and I doubt there will ever be, and that's too bad for us. She was jewel.

My condolences to you,

Marc Barter

Marianne, you have gone off and left us behind, much the poorer for your departure, but you remain a bright shining presence in my memory bank. From the first grade, Miss Field's class at First Ward in Fitzgerald, to shopping together in Atlanta last year, you displayed a chart-topping sense of dry humor and wit, a sense of style that never went out of date, classic beauty that could turn heads, and a range of intellectual accomplishments that I'm sure I'll never really know. How I will miss you!
