Mary Evelyn Taylor was born in Craven County, North Carolina on September 12, 1932 to the late Mr. Elvin Richardson Brown and Mrs. Viola Morgan Brown. Mary was a hard worker who retired from the US Postal Service in New York City. She was very devoted to her family and friends and was always willing to give advice and helped whenever she was needed. She dedicated her life to Christ and was most recently a member of Richmond Christian Center in Richmond, Virginia.
She was called home to be with the Lord after a brief illness. She leaves to cherish her memories two loving and devoted children: Sonia Taylor of Brooklyn, NY and Stephanie Williams and her husband, Brenton of Woodstock, GA; a brother, Mr. James W. Brown of New Bern, NC; three grand children, Shawnya Myles, Larren Taylor, and Taylor Williams; and two great grandchildren, Braelin Jackson and Layla Taylor. She also had a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly. Mary was loved by many. Not only was she a mother and daughter, but she was a great friend who had a heart for people and shared all that she had with those in need. We thank God for Mary's life. May we all be inspired by her strength, courage, and unyielding faith in God's grace and mercy. She will be missed, but she will live on in our hearts and memories forever.
