Mia H. Hecht Owens

Mia Hecht Owens (Mrs. Cornelius William) died peacefully in her sleep Monday, October 28, 2013. Mia, or “Omi” as she was affectionately known to her grandchildren, was dearly loved by her family. A past-president of the Piedmont Garden Club, Mia was a member of the Cathedral of Saint Phillip and The Junior League of Atlanta and a former docent at the High Museum of Art. The daughter of Robert and Mia de Peterse Hecht, Mia is survived by her three sons, Robert T. Morgan (Shelley), George S. Morgan, Sr. (Candace Collins), Stephen J. Morgan (Ruth Friedman); her three grandchildren, Candace E. Morgan (Ed Lee), George S. Morgan, Jr. (Whitney Mycoff) and Mia Catharine Morgan Mattioli (John); and her cousins Eddie de Peterse and Frank de Peterse, III. Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 1 at HM Patterson, Spring Hill with interment services following at Arlington.
