

Michael Julian Brink, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the age of 57. Born January 31, 1956 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Michael was a proud partner of Wellspring Associates in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a frequent speaker and author of articles published regarding wealth transfer and life insurance due diligence. He served on the editorial board of Wealth Management Business magazine and his work regarding the integration of life insurance with philanthropy is used by the American College in their Philanthropic Advisor Certification program. In addition to other professional and community involvement, Michael was past president of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council, past chairman of the Planned Giving Advisory Board for The Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta, and served on the Advisory Board for the Cox Family Business Center at Kennesaw State University. He is the founder of the Southeastern Family Office Forum (SEFOF) which was created to provide a peer to peer educational and safe networking opportunity in a safe, academic environment for families of significant wealth. Michael is to be recognized this week with a lifetime achievement award for his leadership in the advancement of Family Offices.
Michael enjoyed volunteering and service at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Boy Scouts of America, and coaching various sports teams. Over the past twenty years, Michael served on a variety of community and philanthropic boards.
Preceeded in death by his mother Alice O'Hearn Brink, father George H. Brink, Sr. and father-in-law, Everett McGarry. To cherish his memory and celebrate the wonderful life they shared, he leaves behind his loving wife, Deborah McGarry Brink, son Nicholas McGarry Brink and siblings, Hank Brink and wife Lois, John Brink and wife Colleen, James Brink and wife Carole, Kathleen Bullock and husband Bill, David Brink and wife Julie, Stephen Brink and wife Patricia, Barbara Ambrose and husband John, Gregory Brink and wife Ann Marie and step-mother Orpha Brink. Mother –in-law,Kathryn McGarry, sisters- in -law Marianne Burke and husband Joseph, Ellen Macri and husband Joseph, brother-in-law, Patrick McGarry and wife Mariana. Also leaves 29 nieces and nephews.

Family will receive guests on Tuesday, April 30 at H.M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill at 5pm with Rosary starting at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass will take place at the Cathedral of Christ the King on Wednesday, May 1st at 2pm.
