Michele Barland

Was the beloved daughter of Tom and Bev Thomas for 51 years, and an ever-caring sister to Tom Thomas, Dawn Bush and Denise Hill.

She enjoyed her role as a loving, kind and helpful Aunt to Ryan, Jackson and Samantha.

Most of all, she treasured her time being the totally-giving and devoted mother to her son, Nick, for 21 years. Michele was formerly married to E. Scott Barland, Nick’s father.

She shared happiness and contentment with her boyfriend, Jeff Parker, during the last 3 years and will be forever missed by all whose lives she touched. And there were many; from school children, kids at camp and hospital patients, whose needs were so competently and compassionately served.

Michele was the bright and shining light of our lives whose glow will be forever dimmed. May her spirit reside with all her loving kin who preceded her on this journey and who greatly benefited from her love and kindness along the way.

Michele was born in Greensboro, NC on 3/19/1964, the Feast of St. Joseph, her patron saint.

Never at a loss for sharing humor, her favorite authors were David Sedaris, Rick Bragg and Melissa Fay Greene.

God rest her magnificent and beautiful soul.
