Olive Booth Cook

Olive Booth Cook passed away peacefully at her home in Marietta, on October 6, 2017, a few days after her 99th birthday. Olive was born in Social Circle, Georgia, but spent the last 48 years living in the East Cobb community. Olive was an avid gardener, a homemaker, a great cook and an animal lover. She was an active member in her circle at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, enjoyed volunteering and was an Atlanta Braves fan. Olive was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Claude Glenn Cook, Jr., a U. S. Naval Officer and pilot. As a homemaker, she supported her family’s many moves around the country until Glenn retired and the family settled in the Atlanta area. Olive is survived by four children, Olivia Lynn Lane, Hugh Nolan Cook, Cynthia Ann (Leandrew) Tabb, and Lloyd Reynolds Cook. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Joni Tabb, Matthew Cook, Jonathan Tabb, Leandrew Tabb, Christen (Ben) Harbin, Harrison (Amy) Tabb and five great grandchildren, Xavier Sessoms, Jackson Cook, Theodore Tabb, Elliot Tabb, and Emery Harbin. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on October 18, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. in the Chapel of the Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 4385 Lower Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA. Olive will be laid to rest beside her husband in Foley, Alabama at Pine Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Mt. Bethel Christian Preschool.
