On January 27, 1947 Patricia Ann Garnsey was born in Hot Springs Arkansas to Anita and Harry Garnsey. After multiple moves, the family settled in Georgia where Patricia would attend school at Gainesville High School and college at her beloved North Georgia College.
After College Patricia found a deeper love for family having three sons. Darren Gent, David Gent (Cassie Pillis-Gent), and Scott Gent (Sara Castro-Gent). She also discovered her love and talent for singing and often sang in church choirs and also with the Decatur Civic Chorus. Her time with these choirs brought her many lifelong friends, pride, and memories.
Patricia also found a family in her work community. As a longtime employee in the wealth management industry, her coworkers became her confidants.
Patricia was overjoyed when grandchildren came into her life. They became her first priority and her greatest achievement. Dillon, Sophia, Brennan, Garrett, Devyn, Turner, and Gabriela made her laugh, brought her new special memories, and so much love.
Being an only child, Patricia developed a strong interest in her family history. Her research into her ancestry led her to create new connections and deep friendships with family across many states, especially Texas.
Patricia was an avid reader, an experienced traveler, a fierce friend, a Varsity chili dog aficionado, and most importantly, a loving mother and grandmother. She will be extremely missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Paws Atlanta, 5287 Covington Highway, Decatur, GA 30035.
