

Reba Conner Lacks, 87, of Marietta, GA passed suddenly, Saturday, October 13, 2012. Reba was born in Cluster Springs, VA, August 27, 1925. She was the child of Mr. & Mrs. Henry A. Conner of Virginia. Reba is survived by four children: Pamela Lacks Shapiro, Debra Lacks, Jeff Lacks and wife, Shyra and Karen Ridge and husband, Wayne, all of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Melissa Schultz Freeman, Nicole McCollough, Michael McCollough, Conner Lacks, and Cameron Lacks; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Reba attended Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. For over 30 years, she served as Executive Secretary to the Georgia Senate for the State of Georgia. Prior to that, she served as Executive Secretary to the Pentagon in Washington, DC. She was Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Georgia Music Festival, Inc. She loved to travel and listen to music and was an avid reader all her life.
A celebratory service honoring Reba’s life will be held at noon on Thursday, October 18, in the H.M. Patterson & Son – Spring Hill Chapel, located at 1020 Spring St, NW; Atlanta. The family will receive friends before the service in the chapel from 10:30 to noon.
