

Reba Gayle Harris Lindsay, age 76, of Atlanta, died Thursday, June 18, 2015. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Melville C. Lindsay; children, Eloise Lindsay, M. Graham Lindsay, and Sara K. Kohanowich; and grandchildren, Emma L. Kohanowich and Maggie M. Kohanowich. Gayle was a 1956 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, Florida and a 1961 graduate of the University of Florida. She was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority at the University of Florida and was an active member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. Early on, Gayle worked for the old AT&T Longlines in both Cincinnati, Ohio and Atlanta, later becoming a homemaker in late 1966 through late 1983. She was continuously active in the Druid Hills Presbyterian Church since 1964, active in her neighborhood garden club, and very active in the PTA at Garden Hills Grade School, Sutton Middle School, and North Fulton High School while her children attended. From late 1983, she worked at a number of jobs including as an office manager for Norman Askins, Architect for several years until she retired in 2001. Gayle was an active participant in the ASO volunteers, including several years on the ASO “Decorators Showcase” committees. A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11 o’clock at Druid Hills Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow at the church.
