Richard H. Matthews, 72, of Brookhaven, GA, died Monday, February 29, 2016, at his home. Richard had recently retired from the First Alliance Church of Atlanta. In 2008, he retired from Lund International and had also worked for Olympic Manufacturing and Oxford Chemicals for over 30 years. He spent a lot of his spare time volunteering with Toys for Tots and brought cheer to numerous children and adults alike as Santa Claus. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Brenda Anderson Matthews, daughter, Candace K. Wright, daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Kevin Mitchell, grandchildren, Kevin and Heather Roden, Krystin Roden, 3 great grandchildren, and sister Marvelyn Mathis. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 20, at 3 P.M. at H. M. Patterson and Son Oglethorpe Hill in Brookhaven.
