
Sara Farmer Heald, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully in her sleep on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2010, at her home in Canterbury Court. She was 89 years old. Sara was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Don Elliot Heald; her twin sister, Julia Antoinette Farmer; and her parents: Myron H. Farmer and Julia Troutman Farmer.
Born on May 8, 1921 in Newnan, Georgia, Sara graduated from the University of Georgia where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Sara was an avid gardener and antique collector. She most enjoyed spending time at the family summer home at Lake Burton.
She is survived by her three sons and their families: David and Deborah Heald of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and their children John and Laura; Tom and Evelyn Heald of Atlanta and their children Sarah and Anna; and Frank and Mary Heald of Atlanta and their children Robert, David and Mary Emma.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Mikell Chapel at The Cathedral of Saint Philip on Tuesday, the thirtieth of November at ten o’clock in the morning. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Cathedral of Saint Philip.
