I just found out from our other roommate, Don Briner, that Tom had passed away.  The three of us had great times together.  Shared apartments; one near Emory, and in one of the Fraternities on campus (they rented out rooms that they couldn't fill).  One thing that came to mind was Tom wanting the thermostat set high (he was from Florida (although born in Trenton NJ, I think), while Don liked it low, with the windows opened.  Then there were the very late night runs to the Krispy Kreme on Ponce de Leon, after studying.  A lot of other fond memories (too many to print here) of a truly gifted civil engineer.  From your "Imaginary Engineer" (IE) roommate, may you Rest In Peace.

Wow! I am so sad to learn the news of Tom's passing. He was a passionate engineer and a mentor to me but above all a great friend.  We lost touch years ago but my wife and I always, always reminisce with great affection the fun times we spent together.  A genuine guy who I will never forget.  Our deep condolences go to his wife and daughter.

Tom was such a great friend to my Dad and will truly be missed by our family.

Called Tom to wish a happy birthday and found he had passed. What a guy! Great friend, Great person. We met in '69 and you could not help but fall in love with this guy.  He helped me through so much. I will never forget him.

Tom was a skilled engineer, quick to frame a problem and identify solutions.  I got to know him working on bus facility projects at MARTA.  He had his hand in award-winning designs.  One of those colleagues that you always hope you will see again some day.  I'll always remember that lime green behemoth early 70's Impala he drove - the long way around I-285 to save time getting to meetings in Avondale!

I trust you have found peace, my friend.  Your contributions to the MARTA project will be remembered in our hearts and utilized by countless generations to follow.

I worked with Tom on MARTA in Atlanta and Taipei.  I enjoyed our professional relationship and friendship.  He was a great engineer and friend.  My condolences go out to his wife, daughter and entire family.

Tom showed his passion for life, his family and his profession while at the Airport.  We will miss him and appreciate his contributions.

Fervent prayers and heartfelt condolences to the family and many friends of Tom, who was a great person who just happened to also be an engineer. He left his mark of excellence on the MARTA system with a multitude of people and projects.

Tom was a consummate engineer and a true professional.  Although I only knew him for a brief period during our time together at MARTA, I admired his knowledge and proficiency at solving complex engineering problems.
