Valerie Russell

Valerie Russell, 62, of Chamblee, passed away on February 7, 2019 in Chamblee.

Valerie Russell was born in Indianapolis to Robert McCarley and Christine (Stewart) McCarley on July 7, 1956. She went to school at Arlington High School in Indianapolis. She. graduated from Indiana University. Valerie worked as a Registered Nurse for PruittHealth-Brookhaven for five years. She was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the United States Air Force.

Valerie Russell is preceded in death by her father, Robert McCarley, and her mother, Christine (Stewart) McCarley.

Valerie Russell is survived by her daughters, Tia T. Russell (Daniel) Gibson of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Remy R. Edmonds of Doraville, Georgia, and Halle Russell, of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers Winfred McCarley of Indianapolis, Indiana, Wilfred McCarley of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Robert McCarley, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; one grandchild Israel A. (Remy) Pierre; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114, with Reverend Thomas of Ray of Hope Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are by H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill Chapel.
