

With profound sadness and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Victoria "Vicki" Ison Akin, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She departed this world on Friday, May 16th surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and unwavering devotion to her family.
A native of Atlanta, GA, Vicki was born on August 8, 1946. She attended The Lovett School and W.F. Dykes High School before earning her degree from Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. A woman of strong community spirit, Vicki was a Life Member of the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital Auxiliary serving in many different leadership roles including President in 2006, Chairman of the Piedmont Ball, and was currently serving on the Advisory Council. She also spent many successful years in real estate at Harry Norman. Additionally, she was a proud member of the Junior League of Atlanta.
Vicki had a love of golf, a passion that led her to serve as president of multiple golf associations, including the Capital City Ladies Golf Association and the Atlanta Women’s Golf Association. She and her beloved husband, Randy, treasured their time on the course and enjoyed countless rounds, sharing laughter and companionship.
Above all, Vicki’s life was defined by love and commitment—especially to her husband Randy, who stood by her side through life’s journey. She was a devoted mother to her sons with a great love for her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her legacy is one of treasured memories, and an example of a life well-lived. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Vicki is survived by her loving husband, J. Randall “Randy” Akin, her sons John Randall Akin, Jr., Bradley Davis Akin, and Ryan Thomas Akin (wife Ashley); her sister Janice Ison Haralson; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Roswell Davis Ison, Jr. and Virginia Greene Ison, her brother Roswell Davis Ison, III, and her sisters Diane Ison Coursey and Barbara Ison Thome.
A celebration of life will be held for Vicki at Capital City Club Brookhaven on Thursday, May 22nd from 2:00PM-4:00PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital Auxiliary https://www.pahauxiliary.org/donate .
